How To Style: A bodysuit 3 ways + in all black

How To Style A Black Bodysuit

Another staple piece in my wardrobe is a bodysuit. I know, I know... it can sometimes be such a pain to wear, but the fact that you can wear it with pretty much everything for any occasion makes it a must-have in my closet. I, like many others, have those super popular bodysuits from Zara that costs $20, but the one I'm going to style today is from Alix. This brand is known for their polished, yet practical bodysuit styles that range from casual to dressy, summer to winter... basically you can find a bodysuit for any occasion with Alix! Here I took one of their most basic black bodysuits & styled it 3 different ways... & in all black. I think I'm really looking forward to fall & winter, lol!

Bodysuit + Shorts

In this first outfit, I styled the bodysuit with a pair of Aritzia 'Anthem' shorts. The bodysuit definitely shows off my broad shoulders more than I'd like to because of it being a form-fitted top, but since the shorts give me some hip width (to make my shoulders and hips appear to be the same width), it actually works fine. I also decided to wear my Chanel beige/black espadrilles to bring a little bit of contrast to the outfit. For my bag, I opted for my Céline nano luggage tote, but wearing it by the top handles instead of crossbody. This is something I'd definitely wear to a nice lunch date with a friend.

Bodysuit + Pants

Because I love a good pair of trousers & the fact that they've been such the rage lately, I traded the shorts for a pair of high-waisted wide-legged pants. Can you believe that this pair is actually from back in 2012 when I used to work at BCBG?! They're still so chic, but definitely would love to get an upgraded version. Will definitely be on the lookout for a new pair, like this similar one by Ganni! But back to the outfit... instead of the pants being wide at the hips, it's wide at the legs to, again, give the illusion that my body is proportional.

I had some fun with the shoes & went for my Balenciaga speed trainers. I love the professional/sporty looks people are rocking nowadays. Somehow it just works. Lastly, I topped the outfit with the Céline small sangle bucket bag to keep with the casual vibe. This would be a fun outfit to wear if you're roaming the city, or going on a (window) shopping trip!

Bodysuit + Midi Skirt

The last outfit is something I normally wouldn't go for. I bought this midi skirt from Zara last year, but never got around to wearing it for whatever reason (similar by Reformation). I feel like I just had such a hard time trying to style it. However, I thought I did a decent job with this outfit! Because the bodysuit is so form-fitting & seamless, it makes it the ideal pairing for a skirt like this.

I paired this outfit with these cute flat Mango sandals (similar by Mango) and my Céline 'Made In' medium tote, which would be a perfect outfit if you're driving up &/or down the coast, like Monterey or Carmel. I see myself walking along the beach with sandals in hand, my skirt flowing against the wind, & a handful of snacks that I can munch on.
