4 Easy Hairstyles For Nurses
This post is for all my frontliners, particularly my nurses! As healthcare workers, our main priority is keeping our patients safe by doing our job correctly right? So that means the way we look is on the bottom of our list of things to worry about. BUT, as you might already guess from the contents of my Instagram & blog, I do make an effort to style myself because, ultimately, it makes me feel good! With that being said, I wanted to create a blog post on different hairstyle ideas that are both stylish & functional for a 12 hour shift.
The Wave: This hairstyle is something you could do the night before a shift. If you have short hair, it's easy to wave the top layer of hair & keep the bottom layer straight. When you wake up in the morning, you can simply add some texture spray, like this one from Kristin Ess or this one from IGK, & you'll be good to go for your shift!
The Half Up-Half Down: This is a great one if you need to get your hair out of the way temporarily, like when you're doing a quick dressing change, or if you're not that into putting your hair up completely, but still want it out of your face. A perfect style that only requires a hair claw. Some cute ones with a great grip include these ones from Riviera, Goody, J. Crew, & Kitsch.
The Low Pony: For the last shift of the week where you could care less about your hair... this is the style I usually go for when my only concern is just getting through my last shift. I'm on my last day of work, but still want to look clean & presentable. I LOVE using these hair ties because they don't give me tension headaches, I can disinfect them, & I can make them tight again in boiling water! I usually smooth my hair with hair spray & a smoothing brush, like this one, because I love a clean, sleek pony.
The (Mask) Headband: A new addition to my hairstyle collection... Since I'm required to wear my mask throughout my entire shift, I wear this style when my ears are starting to feel sore because the headband has BUTTONS on the sides! It relieves the pressure & gets my hair out of my face, which I usually need by mid-shift. Thankfully, one of my colleagues made these cute headbands! It's so useful & is a very cute look. I use the same hair ties as the ones I use with the low pony & for the headbands, here are great options you can try from Amazon, Etsy, & UrbanHalo.
Of course there are way more hairstyles that you can wear, but these are just some that are easy & chic. I love switching it up & feeling stylish at work because it makes me feel good. It allows me to overlap my style/beauty passion with my professional career, & it's just awesome. Let me know what your favorite styles are, & if you're a healthcare worker, tell me what your go-to hairstyle is!
