Still Summer, But Feeling Fall-sy

Can you believe it's going to officially be Fall next week?! I'm SO excited to start pull out all of my knits, leggings, leather pants & jackets, & heeled boots in black & various shades of nude. It's still pretty warm here in California though, so I don't plan on layering up too much any time soon. Instead, I plan on wearing pieces that are light in material, but that are able to cover me up a little more than my summer pieces.

Summer to Fall Dress

My official transitional Fall outfit of choice is this AllSaints Nichola Rosey floral print dress (out of stock). This is an old style from 2018, but I still find various occasions to wear it. What I love about AllSaints as a brand is that they recycle styles from previous seasons & update small details of their pieces to make it "new." I'm a fan of this because that means if I become a fan of a piece from the previous season, I know I'll be able to find a version of it the next year.

Now back to the dress... I love this piece for this sort of in between season because even though it is a short dress, it does have long sleeves. Depending on the weather, I have the option to leave the dress as is & pair it with a pair of sandals or mules, or layer a leather jacket over it, & even a pair of stockings & boots. It's so versatile & I feel like it's the perfect mix of girly & tough, as all AllSaints pieces are.

Lastly, I topped it off with my newest handbag purchase--my vintage Chanel classic flap in tan/camel/caramel. What makes this handbag a great transitional piece is the shade. This shade of tan can easily work well in the summer with an all white monochromatic outfit or, like in this case, with the jewel-toned shade of this dress.

Although both of these pieces have hefty price tags, I know I'll get the maximum amount of wear on them. In general, whenever you are purchasing clothes, handbags, accessories, etc., brainstorm ways you'd be able to wear it vs. trying to convince yourself that you're going to wear it. It's always a better idea to invest in pieces you know you're going to get the most wear out of even if you may be paying more for it.

Are you all excited for the new season? I honestly can't believe we've made it to September after everything that's been going on, yet here we are! Leave a comment down below on your go-to pieces for this season.
