What's Your Body Shape?

When I was in college, I worked for BCBG Max Azria. As a sales associate, we were taught about the different body types & would have 'fit sessions' where we would practice creating & selling complete outfits that would be suited for particular body types. I was not the best at this & would be sooo nervous every time I would have to do this with my managers because speaking in a professional setting, or public speaking for that matter, is literally one of my worst fears lol! Despite having to do these fit sessions, I learned a ton about how to dress specific body shapes with outfits that complement them. The way I learned about them was with letters, so this is the way I'm going to teach you, too. Take a look at the chart below:

As you can see from this basic chart I designed, I've highlighted 4 different types--A, H, T, & X body shapes. Growing up, I never knew what my own body shape was & would always wear clothes that looked nice on the rack, but may not have necessarily complemented my body. Working at BCBG made me more aware of my own body shape (T-shape) & how picking the right clothes for my particular body can make the biggest difference. Ideally, everyone wants an X body shape because basically everything looks good with this one! However, even if you don't have this shape, there are ways you can definitely create the illusion. I'll be coming out with a series on each specific body type & how to dress to play up these shapes.
