DIOR Unboxing + What I (Strategically) Plan On Purchasing This Year
Last week I unboxed my newest addition to my fine jewelry collection--the Mimirose ring in yellow gold & emerald from Dior--on my Instagram Reels. I purchased this after visiting the San Francisco boutique at the end of December.
To be quite honest, I was not expecting to purchase any item when I visited the boutique. But after browsing the store for quite some time, I eventually made my way to the fine jewelry section. I've only ever looked at their handbags, shoes, accessories, & more affordable jewelry line, so I wasn't hopeful on finding anything when Jacob (the SA who was assisting me) showed me the display case.
Little did I know that the daintiest chain-link ring with an emerald center would catch my eye! As someone whose birthday is in May, the emerald stone held meaningful significance as its my birthstone--a symbol of rebirth & love. I always hated my birthstone growing up because I hated the color green & only recently started to truly appreciate the stone as I've gotten older. Even though I wasn't planning on buying this stunning piece, I'm so happy I did.
Now let's talk about what I plan on purchasing this year in terms of luxury. I will be the first to admit that I went crazy last year in terms of my purchasing. It was definitely my own way of coping after a passing in my family, & in hindsight, I really don't regret anything because I still use everything I bought to this day.
But because of my excessive spending last year, I've changed my strategy in terms of luxury shopping so that I can stay on track for my bigger long-term goals. I still want to be able to buy what I love, but I need to plan accordingly for these bigger purchases (read my blog post here to get a sense of how I set up my financial goals this year).
This year, my goal is to fine tune my fine jewelry collection. I feel like I've found purse peace (for now) & now want to expand my fine jewelry pieces. So, for my birthday in May & my one year blog anniversary, I plan on buying a more expensive piece that I know I'll keep forever. Can you guess in the comments what this piece may be? I also want to add more bracelets to my collection & already have my eye on the Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra bracelet in Mother of Pearl to match my necklace, which I absolutely love.
This secret & VCA pieces are actually the only two on my list as of right now & I'm so happy with that. There's also a belt that's outside of my jewelry list, which I can touch upon later. So, do you have any luxury pieces on your list this year? If so, let me know in the comment section or catch me on Instagram!
